1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using LinkVault ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
LinkVault is a free, open-source Progressive Web Application (PWA) for managing bookmarks. The Service allows you to:
- Save and organize bookmarks locally in your browser
- Optionally sync your bookmarks to your personal Google Drive account
- Access your bookmarks across multiple devices
- Use the companion Chrome extension for quick bookmark saving
3. No Backend Service
LinkVault operates without a backend server or database. All data is stored:
- Locally in your browser's IndexedDB
- On your personal Google Drive (if you choose to enable sync)
We do not collect, store, or process your bookmark data on any servers we control.
4. Use License
LinkVault is provided free of charge under the MIT License. You are granted permission to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, and distribute the software, subject to the terms of the MIT License. The source code is available on GitHub.
5. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your Google account credentials
- Backing up your bookmark data
- Any content you save or store using the Service
- Complying with Google's Terms of Service when using Google Drive sync
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. We make no warranties or representations about:
- The accuracy or reliability of the Service
- The Service being uninterrupted or error-free
- The Service meeting your specific requirements
- Data loss prevention or recovery
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with Google Drive for optional data synchronization. Your use of Google Drive is governed by Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for Google's services or any issues arising from your use of Google Drive.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. Since we do not maintain user accounts or store your data on our servers, there is no formal termination process. To remove your data, clear your browser's local storage and revoke LinkVault's access to your Google Drive.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Slovakia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
